Mid-coast veterans and their families are invited to meet with local legislators for a “legislative coffee” Saturday.
Local veterans and their families will have an opportunity to meet and talk with their state representatives about what is happening in the area of veterans’ legislation. It will also provide them an opportunity to air their concerns.
The event is sponsored by the Mid-Coast Veteran’s Council, a nonprofit veterans organization that represents the combined veterans’ organizations in the Mid-coast region in order to promote, sponsor and support veterans and their families.
The meeting is 9 a.m. at Topsham American Legion Memorial Post 202, 79 Foreside Road.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
