BRUNSWICK — The deadline to apply for funds from the Laureen Swanson Music For Youth Funds is March 29.
Funds can be used to assist, enhance and encourage appreciation and growth of music and are now available from the music departments of Brunswick High School, Mt. Ararat High School, Brunswick Junior High School and the Brunswick Unitarian Universalist Church (temporary offices at Fort Andross). Any youth music program — individual or group, public or private — is eligible for funding as long as participants are no older than college age. No financial information is required to apply.
In the past, money has been given for new instruments, sheet music, lessons, instrument repair and summer music camp.
Application deadline is March 29. For more information, call 729-8515.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
