With Town Council approval in hand, an even bigger Maine Craft Shack will open Memorial Day weekend for its second year on the Main Street Pier.
Pam Shockley, one of five members of the Maine Craft Shack co-op, said the shack will open Friday, May 24 and be open seven days a week — mostly 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but hours will be flexible.
“We’re very excited,” Shockley said. “We’ll have even more crafters this year — more than 25 — and it’s all made in Maine.”
The Waterfront Committee gave its approval last Thursday night and passed it to the Town Council, which approved it Tuesday.
Anne Cole-Fairfield, Kathy Clawson, Linda Estabrook and Diane Fitzmaurice also belong to the co-op.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
