BATH — The 28th Annual Bath Area Senior Citizen Cribbage Tournament was held Feb. 16 at the Bath Area Senior Citizen’s Activity Center.

The event — co-sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 21 and the Bath Parks & Recreation Department — had 13 doubles teams and 25 singles competing.

In the singles competition, first place went to Ken Colby, second place went to Mark Carver and third place went to Paul James. In the doubles competition, first place went to Joe and Lewis Havener, second went to Lillian and Paul Karass and third went to Ken Colby and Paul James.

In both tournaments, firstplace finishers were awarded $35 and individual trophies; second-place finishers were awarded $25 and trophies; and third place finishers were awarded $15 and trophies. First- and second-place finishers will have their name engraved on a plaque kept at the center.

A highlight of the tournament featured a five-way tie for the third-division winner. Harry Higgins, Ellie Eramos, Margaret Bailey, Aubrey Steen and Paul James all had four wins apiece. James eventually won.
