In the singles competition, first place went to Ken Colby, second place went to Mark Carver and third place went to Paul James. In the doubles competition, first place went to Joe and Lewis Havener, second went to Lillian and Paul Karass and third went to Ken Colby and Paul James.
In both tournaments, firstplace finishers were awarded $35 and individual trophies; second-place finishers were awarded $25 and trophies; and third place finishers were awarded $15 and trophies. First- and second-place finishers will have their name engraved on a plaque kept at the center.
A highlight of the tournament featured a five-way tie for the third-division winner. Harry Higgins, Ellie Eramos, Margaret Bailey, Aubrey Steen and Paul James all had four wins apiece. James eventually won.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
