BATH — Charles W. Plummer, widely known for his lectures on the Civil War and his living history performances, will present a talk at Patten Free Library on the life of Lincoln and his gift as a storyteller and humorist.
Plummer will share highlights of Lincoln’s life and what it was like to know him, the ideas that formed the core of his understanding of American politics, why he opposed slavery and the leadership skills that he marshaled to guide our divided nation through the Civil War.
The second portion of the talk focuses on Lincoln’s skill as a storyteller and how he sprinkled his conversations with humorous stories and anecdotes.
The presentation — 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 — is free and open to the public. For more information, call 443- 5141, ext. 25.
