
He was born June 2, 1949 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine a son to Robert B. and Nellie H. Giles. He moved to the local area in 1956 and was educated in Bath and Brunswick schools.
He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief (E-8) in 1997. He was a member of the Topsham American Legion, Post 202. He enjoyed fishing and mechanics.
He is predeceased by his wife, Lynda L. Giles; a brother, Glenn R. Giles.
He is survived by a daughter, Kerri A. Lewis and her husband “Lew” of New York; a son, Robert A. Giles of Lewiston; a brother, Dale Giles and his wife Linda of Topsham; a sister Sharon G. Chapa and her husband Richard of Choctaw, OK; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
