BRUNSWICK — CHANS Home Health Care Hospice Care Program is offering classes for individuals interested in becoming hospice volunteers.
The 10-week training program will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays beginning March 4 at the CHANS Hospice Building, 45 Baribeau Drive.
The free training prepares individuals to deal compassionately and sensitively with end-of-life issues in a volunteer capacity. Once complete, the certified hospice volunteer will be able to offer services to a patient and their family during the last phases of life, through the CHANS Hospice Care Program.
A completed application and pre-training interview is required. For more information, call 721-1271 or email mzillioux@midcoasthealth.co m.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
