Earlier this month we had our first lesson in how to attach a small motor to a bicycle and convert it into a motorbike. Whitney Young, a graduate from Bowdoin College, and I have been working on the Bowdoin Common Good grant that could potentially support the new program.
In other news, the Brunswick Teen Center is looking for new ways to connect teens with local opportunities in music and art. We tried hosting acoustic guitar lessons at the Teen Center one Thursday, but as of now we have no sign ups. If you or someone you know may be interested please contact me at the Teen Center!
Rick Wilson, a teacher at Brunswick High School, and I have been discussing other ways of connecting with local musicians and artists. We are searching for adults in the community interested in hosting workshops and/or offsite visits. Rick and I both see the creative potential at the middle and high schools, and if anyone in the community would like to collaborate please let us know.
The Teen Center would like to thank everyone who has supported us through the holiday season. Several community members have continuously donated delicious food, warm clothing and other wonderful treats. It has made us all so happy to see such love and compassion from the Brunswick community. Thank you all for your kindness and generosity.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
