RICHMOND
Richmond police arrested a man they say was involved in a domestic assault early Saturday.
Police were called to a Front Street address at 12:30 a.m. Saturday and arrested 31-year-old Blake Sandelin of 174 Langdon Road on a charge of domestic violence assault.
The alleged victim told the responding officer she had left her residence where Sandelin was so he could go home. But she returned to find he was still there, and an argument ensued, said Sgt. Adam Garland.
The victim alleged Sandelin struck her in the face and throat and at one point put his fingers down her throat, and stated that she was forced to defend herself with a toilet plunger. The woman did not want rescue, Garland said. The officer reported Blake smelled of intoxicants, Garland said.
Sandelin posted $1,000 unsecured bail at the Richmond police station and was released.
