BRUNSWICK — A fender bender Friday night on Pleasant Street led to an operatingunder the-influence arrest.
Police came upon a twovehicle crash Friday at 10:41 p.m. at Pleasant and Stanwood streets. Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said a 2005 Volkswagen driven by Ronald Fitzgerald, 51, of Harpswell was stopped on Pleasant Street at the intersection when his vehicle was struck from behind at a low speed by a 1998 Nissan car driven by Derek Nesbitt, 21, of 3 Hickory Drive, Brunswick.
Nesbitt was administered a field sobriety test and arrested for alleged operating under the influence, possession of marijuana, and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
Fitzgerald complained of pain but was not transported.
