BATH — A ten-week dropoff Preschool Music Playgroup begins Friday, Jan. 11 from noon to 2 p.m., where children learn independence and social skills, while gaining basic music competence.
In the Dance Works studio at 72 Front St., preschoolers have a chance to let out steam while improving physical coordination by dancing, rolling, jumping, sliding and galloping, a news release said.
During focused songs, three- and four-year-olds, learn to take turns and participate appropriately in a group activity. They repeat rhythm and tone patterns with call and response songs. During playful music activities, they learn to sing with increasingly correct pitch and rhythm.
Bath Dance Works has child–sized tables and chairs for lunch and art projects. A water/sand-table adds a different sensorial experience to the class and provides an activity where children can chat and solve problems in a small group.
There will be a CD to take home from this class so that family members can sing with their children.
The cost for the ten-week session is $140.
