BOWDOIN — Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department responded to two crashes 20 minutes apart Friday morning.
The first, reported on Main Street in 7:33 a.m., occurred after the driver of a 2006 Hyundai four-door hit some deep water, lost control and hit a guardrail, said Chief Deputy Brett Strout. The 27- year-old driver, Heather Deane, of Lisbon, also had a young child in the vehicle but no one was hurt.
The second crash was reported at 7:53 a.m. at Litchfield and Wagg Road.
Strout said a 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by 41-year-old Michael Boyko of Bowdoin, was driving too fast for the conditions, left the roadway and struck a tree. He had a young female passenger. Strout said no one was injured.
Both vehicles sustained more than $1,000 in damage. No charges were issued.

It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
