THIRD-, FOURTH- AND FIFTH-GRADERS from Fisher-Mitchell School braved 20-degree temperatures and received stickers and bookmarks for participating in a recent Walking School Bus event. Students left the Bath Area Family YMCA to walk with parents and chaperones to Fisher-Mitchell School about a mile away. The walk was supported by Maine Safe Routes To School — a statewide, federally funded community effort to encourage walking and bicycling to school, according to a news release.
