BRUNSWICK

The winning entry has been chosen in a contest to design a bronze plaque village marker, but you’ll have to wait until Nov. 28 to see it. A party is scheduled to show off local artist Beth Sokoloff ’s winning design at 5 p. m., at the Little Dog Coffee Shop on Maine Street. The seal’s first bronze casting will be displayed. More than a dozen entries were turned in, contest organizer Laura Lienert said. “Everyone from teenagers to octagenarians turned in a design,” she said. “We had something like a 70- year spread.” All of the designs submitted will be exhibited. The effort was sponsored by several groups, including the Brunswick Downtown Association, Village Review Board and Village Improvement Association, and facilitated by the North West Brunswick Neighborhood Association. The plaques will cost $120 for the seal itself, plus a little extra for additional information. They will be made by Colonial Brass Co ., in Taunton, Mass.
