SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The University of New England field hockey team placed seven players on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference teams.

Earning Second Team honors is former Mt. Ararat High School standout Hayley LaPointe, who tallied a teamleading 24 points (nine goals) this season.

On Thursday, LaPointe and the Nor’easters were in action in the CCC semifinals, falling to third-seeded Nichols College 4-3 in overtime.

Avery Orszulak poked home a pass from Emily Widdison for the game-winning goal with 4:19 gone in the extra session to put away sixth-seeded UNE, which hopes to garner a bid in the ECAC Championship.

LaPointe had one shot on goal in the finale.
