FREEPORT — Police arrested two people Monday afternoon at L.L. Bean and charged them with theft of approximately $130 worth of merchandise.
Jessica H. Bateman, 22, and Kodi Merrill, 27, both of 393 Harlow Pond Road in Parkman, which is just west of Dover-Foxcroft, were arrested shortly before 5 p.m. Each was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
Bateman was released at the scene. Merrill was taken to Cumberland County Jail on a warrant for unpaid fines but was released on bail Monday night.
Both are scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on Dec. 18.
