LISBON — Students at Lisbon High School will conducting a mock election for the president of the United States — its sixth — from 11:40 a.m. to 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.

In 1992, students voted for Bill Clinton, 52 percent to 40 percent over President George H.W. Bush. In 1996, they picked President Clinton over U.S. Sen. Robert Dole, RKan., 63 percent to 35 percent. In 2000, 49.3 percent voted for Vice President Al Gore; 49.1 percent for Texas Gov. George W. Bush. In 2004, they voted 48.3 percent for U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., and 48.1 percent for President Bush. In 2008, the vote was 65 percent for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. and 35 percent for U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
