EDGECOMB — Teens To Trails and the Chewonki Foundation will offer a twoday wilderness first aid course to high school students, Oct. 26-27.
The course is described as “perfect for new or existing high school Outing Club advisers or those considering the startup of a new Outing Club program.” Students active in Outing Clubs 16 and older are welcome with parental permission. The cost is $100, which includes a field guide, patient assessment guidebook and an Outward Bound text. Successful participants get a certification card.
Housing is available in Chewonki’s woodstove-heated yurts for an additional cost of $25 per night. Mentoring group sets year-end party
BATH — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick will hold its year-end holiday celebration, “Harvest the Power of Mentoring,” 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 in Long Reach Hall at the Maine Maritime Museum.
Live jazz music with Max Ater, of Bath, a cocktail reception, a dinner catered by Admiral Steakhouse and auctions with products donated by local businesses will be featured. For tickets, call 729- 7736 or email bigbbigs@bbbsbathbrun.org no later than Oct. 31.
