HARPSWELL
A single-car crash Sunday afternoon left one person in the hospital with head injuries, according to investigators from the Cumberland County Sheriff ’s Office.
The 2008 Chevrolet driven by Mark Cota, 24, of Pott’s Point Road, was traveling too fast for the road conditions when it left Harpswell Neck Road near the intersection of Knights Way shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, Cumberland County Sheriff ’s Office Lt. Thomas Williams said.
“It was raining, the road was wet and (Cota) was going too fast,” Williams said.
Cota had to be extricated from the car. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland where, hospital spokesman John Lamb said, he was treated and released.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
