“A good game by both teams, and I was very pleased with the way we played today,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison. “Playing two games in less than 24 hours is tough, but the girls responded well and passed the ball better today. I thought Kassidy Scarponi and Anna Cowan were outstanding, and Alicia Davis, Hannah Kressbach, Jena Libby and Libby Arford did very well.”

Morse traveled to Turner Saturday night and came away with a KVAC Class B win over the Hornets before a large Homecoming crowd.

The Shipbuilders held the territorial advantage for most of the first half, but was unable to break through until a free kick by Morgan Cram found the back of the net with less than a minute remaining.

The second half began as the first had ended with Morse keeping the ball in the Hornets’ half of the field.

The defense of Nichole Laggan, Megan Hixon, Baylie Cram and Cram kept Leavitt to just four shots for the game.

The post and some timely saves kept Morse at bay until with 18 minutes left when the Shipbuilders were awarded a penalty kick, which Bess Howell converted for the second goal.

Morse held a 20-4 shots advantage, with goaltender Sadia Crosby making two saves in recording her third shutout.
