BATH — The Morse High School field hockey team is looking to take steps forward this season.
The Shipbuilders showed signs of improvement on Tuesday in a 2-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference loss to Maine Central Institute (1-1) on Kelley Field.
“The Morse offense really stepped up in the second half, getting eight shots on goal,” said Morse coach Johnna Stanton, whose Shipbuilders are 0- 2 and host Leavitt on Thursday (4 p.m.). “Aysia McCloud was a force on the field, using style and grace to dodge opponent after opponent. Julia Hart and Bronwyn Morrissette worked well together with some great passes and tips toward goal.”
Defensive standouts for Morse were Hannah Rossetti, Jasmine Thibodeau and goalie Bryanna Ringrose, who had 10 saves.
