Portland starter Drake Britton allowed four runs in six innings. Britton struck out seven, permitted four hits and walked one. After allowing three runs in the third inning, the lefty settled down, retiring 11 consecutive Fisher Cats.
Xander Bogaerts was 3-for- 4, including a double for the Sea Dogs. He drove in the lone run for the visitors and has hit safely in 15 of his 19 games since being called up from Single-A Salem.
Gabe Jacobo ripped a threerun home run for New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats added one run in each of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
The run support was enough for New Hampshire starting pitcher Sean Nolin, who tossed six innings on two hits and seven strikeouts.
The Sea Dogs return home for the final series of the Eastern League season against the Reading Phillies. The first pitch tonight is scheduled for 7 p.m.
