WALDOBORO — The Downeast School of Massage is holding its bi-annual pregnancy massage clinic for women in all stages of pregnancy on Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the school on Moose Meadow Lane.
The clinic is provided free, and offers supervised massage specific to the needs of pregnant women. “Students are more than prepared to work with this special target group,” a spokeswoman for DSM said in a news release. “Pregnancy massage rounds out their program of more than 600 in-class hours. It enhances their skills and prepares them for their practice after graduation.”
All clinic clients are asked to complete a medical history questionnaire and are screened for contraindications.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
