
On June 18, 1954 he married Shirley Rathburn.
For twenty years Robert served in the Navy serving in WWII, Korean Conflict and in Vietnam. Robert also retired after 25 years working for the Brunswick School Department.
Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, a nice boat ride and golf. He was a member of American Legion Post 202 of Topsham, Brunswick Elks Lodge and the 40 & 8 club of Topsham.
In addition to his wife of Bowdoinham he is survived by a daughter Donna Burbank, two sons Richard and Steven Burbank, a sister Marjorie Burt and the light of his life Shania and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his daughter Patina, a sister Gertrude and a brother Paul.
At Robert’s request services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Association Maine Chapter 383 US Route 1, Suite 2C Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick where memorial condolences may be expressed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com.
