BOWDOIN — George “Santa” Francis Weekes, 62, of Bowdoin, died on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at his home on the Meadow Rd in Bowdoin surrounded by his family and friends. George “Santa” was born on May 06, 1950 in Canton, NY, the son of Ronald and Elaine (LaJoy) Weekes.

He was a very sociable and outgoing person; and was a member of the Sons of American Legion and the North American Hunting Club, and volunteered to play Santa Clause for the American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATVing, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed cooking and playing cards.

George “Santa” worked at AGWAY as a truck driver, he was a deck hand on various fishing boats, he was a cook at Spinney’s Restaurant for twenty years, and most recently he worked for L.L. Bean in Freeport for 18 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Elaine Weekes; and his Father-in- Law Edgar “Frenchie” Provencher.

George “Santa” is survived by his wife Teresa Weekes; son, Brandon Weekes of Auburn; brothers, Marshall Weekes of Canton NY, and John Weekes and spouse Phyllis of Geneva, NY; Sisterin Law Tina and spouse Peter Jr. Giacullo of Biddeford; and many nieces and nephews.
