WESTPORT ISLAND — The eighth annual Westport Island Shore Run 10K Road Race is scheduled to be held on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
Runners will race on an exciting USATF-certified course and the race is to benefit the Westport Island Volunteer Fire Department, whose members will be directing traffic and providing logistical support at the race. Over the last seven years, the race has generated almost $10,000 in proceeds for the Volunteer Fire Department.
The on-line preregistration fees are $20 for the 10K and $18 for the Fun Walk, and includes post-race refreshments. Race-day registration is $22 and $20, and runners can register at the Westport Island Old Town Hall, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
