CHEYENNE SLIVINSKI:

I’m 16 and I’m a junior at Medomak Valley High School. I’m originally from Skowhegan, but I live in Warren now. My boss is sort of releated to my stepmother. I asked her if she needed assistance this summer and she said, “OK.” I only have to do a couple of things so I’m not all over the place trying to do a bunch of stuff at once.

I’ve had a couple summer jobs in the past. Like odds and ends stuff. I lifted wood when I was 10 or 11. I raked leaves and helped bring in docks for another sort of relation.

This is my first summer making Hawaiian shaved ice. It’s different from Italian shaved ice because you add the flavoring after. I think this is my one, two, three … fifth fair so far? I like that I get to travel a lot and I like meeting the other vendors. And the people all tell stories wherever I go and that’s great when I’m shaving ice and get bored.

THE 158TH annual Topsham Fair runs daily through Sunday. The Times Record will focus on Faces at the Fair throughout this week.
