Bath police are investigating an incident of vandalism on Windjammer Way Wednesday night that left a home and property marked with graffiti.

Lt. Stan Cielinski said the vandalism report was made at 6:05 a.m. Thursday. The complainant reported that he woke up Thursday and his house, garage and scattered property including an old boat, an old row boat and a tool box had been marred with profanities in black and hot pink spray paint. More profanity was left in the roadway leading to the victim’s home. An older-model pickup truck had four flat tires and was scratched along the driver’s side. Sugar was put in the gas tank.

Cielinski said the total damage is likely in the range of a couple thousand dollars. A public works crew was dispatched to the residence early Thursday to address the spray paint in the road.

On Wednesday night at Shaw’s supermarket the victim had a “run-in” with someone he has had a feud with and this person is a potential suspect, said Cielinski.

The incident is not random but a case where police believe the victim was targeted. The case remains under investigation.
