RICHMOND — A strut (large culvert) replacement will take place starting Monday on Route 197, approximately one quarter mile west of High School Drive.
According to a news release, work requires a full closure of approximately 300 to 400 feet on Route 197.
Detour signs will direct motorists coming from Interstate 295 to go in the opposite direction to Route 201, onto Langdon Road, then right onto Alexander Reed Road, which leads back to Route 197.
The detour is approximately two miles long.
Utility crews will be working side by side with the contractor, Wyman & Simpson, as sewer and water lines are on top of the large culvert.
All work is expected to be completed by Aug. 10.
