The town is on track to hire a new town manager from two candidates during its regularly scheduled meeting next Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Peter Joseph, currently the town manager of Lincoln, N.H., has come to preliminary contract terms with the town, according to a town press release issued Monday.
Upon the town council’s approval of those terms next Tuesday, Joseph would be set to replace current manager Dale Olmstead, who has held that spot for nearly 30 years and plans to retire this fall.
Joseph has served as town manager in Lincoln since June 2008, according to his resume submitted to the town, and has served in other municipal assistant and internship roles at towns in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
He is a 2006 graduate of the University of New Hampshire’s master’s program in public administration and a 2004 graduate of Merrimack College with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
The council will meet next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the town council chambers.
