BOOTHBAY — Tickets are still available for Boothbay Region Land Trust’s 2012 “Jazzing Up the Shipyard” fundraiser on Aug. 16.
Festivities begin with a Silent Auction at 5 p.m., with the opportunity to bid on two tickets to the Marcus Printup Quartet concert at Lincoln Center, or for two tickets to Wimbledon 2013.
Other auction items include custom designed jewelry by John Edwards and a chance to paint with watercolorist Tony Van Hasselt. Guests can enjoy complimentary cocktails and hors d’ouevres prepared by restaurants in the Boothbay region.
The grand finale of the evening is a program of jazz by Marcus Printup, his wife, Riza (harpist), bassist Matthew Rybeck and drummer Alvin Atkinson.
Tickets are $125 per person and must be purchased in advance through BRLT.
To purchase tickets and for more information about the gala event, contact the BRLT at 633-4818 or visit www.bbrlt.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
