BRUNSWICK — The Novel Jazz Septet returns to the Frontier Café Cinema and Gallery at Fort Andross on Saturday at 8 p.m. for a special concert featuring the works of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
According to a news release, the group will perform standard tunes from the Ellington/Strayhorn repertoire, plus newly arranged compositions found in the Ellington Archives of the Smithsonian, tunes that have not been heard in decades. The band has dusted these pieces off and given them a 21st century sound all of their own.
Admission is $13 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are available at Frontier Café or by calling 725- 5222.
Seating is limited so advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.
