BOATS ARE SECURED Tuesday night as clouds and wind build up over the Kennebec River. According to the National Weather Service, a tornado touched down at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Woolwich. It lasted for about two minutes. It was estimated to be about 20 yards wide and two-tenths of a mile long, with top wind speeds reaching between 50 to 60 mph. The Weather Service said the tornado uprooted trees and flipped over lawn chairs. There were no reports of any injuries.
