DAMARISCOTTA — The Lincoln Theater in downtown Damariscotta will screen “Love Never Dies,” Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to “The Phantom of the Opera,” at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The broadcast features a cast of 36, including Ben Lewis as Phantom and Anna O’Byrne as Christine Daaé, from a performance at The Regent Theatre in Melbourne, Australia. To date the show has never been produced in the United States in a Broadway production.
“Based on a book by Ben Elton, the captivating love story of the Phantom and Christine Daaé continues in New York’s playground, Coney Island,” a Lincoln Theater release states. “After his disappearance from the Paris Opera house, the Phantom begins a new life in New York amongst the freaks and sideshows. The only thing missing from his new life is his musical protégée Christine. In an effort to win back his love, the Phantom lures Christine and her family to this new sparkling unknown world.”
Tickets cost $15 for adults or $5 for opera fans age 18 and younger. Adults who bought tickets to the previous “Phantom” screening at Lincoln Theater receive a $5 discount.
