BRUNSWICK — To honor former Brunswick resident Pamela Studwell, who died of cancer in 2009, and to support a personal friend of the actors, Amy Daniels, who is fighting an aggressive breast cancer, David Studwell and Kathleen Mary Mulligan will stage a benefit reading of “Love Letters” at 7:30 p.m. July 31 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 27 Pleasant St.
The play by A.R. Gurney follows a man and a woman over the course of a 50-year friendship through a lifetime of letters that share hopes, triumphs and heartbreak.
The play confronts “the forces that draw us together and keep us apart,” a release from organizers states.
The suggested donation for admission is $10. Proceeds will benefit the Daniels and the American Lung Association. Call 729-8259 or email studwp@gmail.com to reserve a seat. Write donation checks to “Love Letters to Fight Cancer.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
