WEST BATH — Michelle and Stan Moody will lead a course on assisted and self rescues for kayakers at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Seaspray Kayak on the New Meadows River.
The cost is $20 per person. Kayak rental costs $10 per boat. Those who plan to participate are advised to arrive at noon or earlier to finalize payment and place kayaks in the water.
The class will cover the basics of self and assisted rescue. It will include demonstrations in the water and opportunities to try techniques in the water. The instructors recommend that participants wear a wet suit and bring a change of clothes.
The Maine Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club sponsors the program.
