ROCKLAND — The 11th annual Lobster Ride & Roll will be held July 21.
More than 800 bicyclists are expected to ride one of the four routes (16, 30, 50 or 100 miles). Some will be participating in a group ride for the first time, some will be hoping to break personal records and some will be there for the scenery and lobster roll feast after the ride.
Registration for the Lobster Ride is currently open online at https://millenniumreg.com/maine-lobster-ride, or riders can register the morning of the event. Registrants receive the famous Lobster Ride bike socks and admission to local museums free with registration.
The ride also features full race support and rest stops, delicious alternatives to a lobster roll if preferred and showers for after the ride. All proceeds benefit the Coalition’s work to improve bicycling in Maine.
Major ride sponsors are L.L. Bean, Cellardoor Winery, Hannaford, ReVision Energy, Maine Lobster Festival, Sea Hag Seafood, Maine Sport Outfitters, Cedar- Works, Poland Spring, Samoset Resort, J. Edward Knight Insurance and E.L. Spear Lumber and Hardware.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
