POLAND — The Poland Spring Preservation Society hosts a concert by Castlebay at 7 p.m. Monday at the All Souls Chapel.
With two other musicians, Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee formed Castlebay in 1987 to perform and promote the music of Maine and the Celtic lands of Scotland and Ireland. Castlebay became a duo in 1993.
All proceeds from Monday’s concert benefit the preservation and restoration of the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel, both of which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
The chapel, which marks its centennial this year, is located at 37 Preservation Way. Tickets cost $7.50 at the door and include refreshments.
Members of the society will be seated at 6:25 p.m., with the general public following at 6:30 p.m.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
