JACKMAN (AP) — A Canadian man has died in a workrelated accident in western Maine.
The Somerset County Sheriff ’s Department says 46-yearold Bruno Cloutier of St. Zacharie, Quebec, got pinned between a tree harvester and a service truck on the Route 6 Cutoff Road in Jackman late Wednesday morning.
Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi told the Bangor Daily News that the harvester operator was moving the machine in reverse when it pinned Cloutier, a heavy-equipment mechanic who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff ’s department, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the state medical examiner’s office are investigating.
