BATH — Bath Republicans plan to hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
All Bath Republicans are invited to attend. Agenda items include planning for the upcoming election season, an update from the bylaws committee and preparation for Heritage Days.
“The election season is ramping up and it’s time for us to direct a little attention to what we can do in our own back yards to help maintain the momentum of positive change in Augusta,” Diane Simmler, the new chairwoman of the Bath Republicans, said in a release. “While we can’t necessarily get the folks in Washington, D.C., to listen to us, we can make an impact right where we live.”
The Bath GOP will march in the annual Fourth of July parade with candidates from Sagadahoc County. Those who would like to march with the contingent can contact Simmler at diane@simmlers.com.
During Bath Heritage Days, the Bath GOP plans to sell baked goods in City Park on July 6, 7 and 8. To help with this effort, email Linda Rogers at sonflowergal@gmail.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
