To the editor:
I urge my fellow Bath Democrats to support Jennifer DeChant in the June 12 primary for House Seat 62 in the Maine Legislature.
Jennifer’s experience is extensive and pertinent. She has worked in the Office of the Speaker of the House, held leadership positions in the Democratic Party, and worked with local Bath businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Those of us who have dealt with Jennifer in a professional, civic or personal capacity have been impressed by her ability to discuss complicated issues with insight and clarity, as well as by her effective problem solving skills.
Jennifer is particularly focused on efforts to create economic, educational and career opportunities that will keep young people in our city and our state, as well as on the steps that must be taken to support the needs of Maine’s aging population.
I know that all Bath Democrats stand together on an agenda that creates jobs while protecting the most vulnerable of our neighbors. What is critical is that we elect the candidate who can win in November and carry that agenda forward as legislation in the years to come. Jennifer DeChant is that candidate.
