Regional School Unit 1 Superintendent Patrick Manuel will meet Thursday with representatives of the five communities in the school district to discuss the make-up of a committee to discuss a potential future change in the cost-sharing formula for the district, Superintendent Patrick Manuel wrote in an email to The Times Record on Tuesday.
Manuel said the meeting would likely also include discussion of a time frame for making that decision.
The meeting is open to the public, RSU 1 board chairman Tim Harkins said today. It will take place at noon in the superintendent’s office at 34 Wing Farm Parkway, Bath.
In addition to Manuel, Harkins and vice chairwoman Julie Rice are scheduled to attend, along with the chairmen of the boards of selectmen or city councils of Arrowsic, Bath, Phippsburg, West Bath and Woolwich, Manuel said Tuesday.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
