BRUNSWICK — Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness has announce that Jared Palmer, a renowned men’s double tennis player will be participating in the 2012 USTA Men’s 35 Indoor Championships on June 8-15.
Palmer is a professional tennis player from California who won 28 professional doubles titles and one singles title in his career on the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tour. His biggest doubles titles were at the 1995 Australian Open and 2001 Wimbledon. On March 20, 2000 he was ranked as the world’s No. 1 men’s doubles player, and was ranked 35th in singles. In 2005 he officially retired from tennis.
Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness has hosted the USTA Men’s 35 Indoor Championship for the last seven years.
This year’s tournament will be held at Maine Pines Indoor courts June 8-15. The tournament is open to the public and can be viewed from the upstairs viewing area.
All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the MidCoast Tennis Association.
