NEWCASTLE — Theatre of the Spirit will be performing “The Days Are As Grass” beginning today at Second Congregational Church.

Performances are scheduled today and Saturday, and June 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for seniors and may be purchased at the Maine Coast Bookstore or at the door.

These eight one acts by Carol Hall will be performed by many actors from the Mid-coast area including Bill Glendinning, Page Stearns, Kim Fletcher, Sunny Kirkham, Charles Asbury, Elizabeth Rowe, Sonia Clime, Mike Rowe, Henrik Strandskov and Jane Gear.

This collection explores the fragility of hope, memory, old friends, lost loves and the inevitability of time.

Carol Hall is known for her writing both music and lyrics for the Tony-winning “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and “To Whom It May Concern.” She’s also contributed songs to “Sesame Street” and other productions.
