KITTERY (AP) — The Navy says shipyard workers have begun cleaning up fire damage following a blaze last week aboard the USS Miami in dry dock at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

The Navy informed the office of Sen. Susan Collins of Maine on Wednesday that the first phase of cleanup is under way after workers were cleared to go inside the damaged nuclear-powered submarine a day earlier.

The Navy will provide an update on investigators findings in two to three weeks.
