BRUNSWICK — A 21-year old Oklahoma man was charged Thursday with burglary and criminal mischief following a break-in Monday at C&R Trading Post on Old Portland Road.
Brunswick patrol officers responded to the trading post just before 1 a.m. Monday and discovered a window in the building had been broken and an audible alarm triggered, Rinaldi said. Detectives collected evidence and a Maine State Police canine unit tracked the area and determined a suspect likely left the area in a vehicle.
Nothing was taken from the store, Rinaldi said, noting that an audible alarm likely scared the suspect away.
Based on their investigation, Brunswick police made contact with Bishop on Thursday in Brunswick and charged him with Class C burglary and Class D criminal mischief, Rinaldi said.
He is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court on July 17.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
