BATH — The Morse High School softball team scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings en route to a 4-1 Class B win over Camden Hills on Wednesday.
Morse pitcher Megan Hixon had three strikeouts and a like number of walks, while Camden Hills’ Mallory Farley struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.
Abby White paced Camden with two singles, while Morse’s Hannah Russell belted a two-run homer in the fourth, and Lucy Rawson, Hixon and Courtney Feeney each singled.
“Great defense by both teams,” said Morse coach Will Laffely. “Standouts for Morse were Lucy Rawson at third base and Katie Henrikson at shortstop.”
Morse improved to 3-11 and visits Oak Hill on Friday.

MONMOUTH 0
Lisbon (8-4) traveled to previously unbeaten Monmouth on Wednesday in Mountain Valley Conference action and scored two runs in the first and fourth innings to win it.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to host Madison on Friday,
Monmouth pitcher Reen Kahl allowed seven hits, with nine strikeouts and no walks, while Lisbon pitcher Kimber Morse gave up five hits, with no strikeouts and a walk.
In the Monmouth offense, Sabrina Beck and Daisle Poole had two singles each and Kahl chipped in with a hit.
Chantal Bisson, Arianna Kahler, Brooke Lawrence, Haley Eck (single, two RBIs) and Kailin Hill (double) all went 1-for-3, while Alexa Harmon had two singles and an RBI.

YARMOUTH 1
In a Western Maine Conference pitcher’s duel, Alexa Sullivan gave up just one hit and Yarmouth plated the winning run in the fourth.
Freeport pitcher Leigh Wyman scattered six hits, with 10 strikeouts and no walks, while Sullivan struck out seven and walked three.
Freeport dipped to 5-9 and hosts Fryeburg Academy on Friday.
OXFORD HILLS 15 BRUNSWICK 0
The host Dragons fell to 1- 14 in a KVAC home loss to the Vikings.
Kelly Bridges had both hits for Brunswick, while pitcher Rachel Moroney allowed 10 hits. In addition to Moroney, Hilda Nixon and Mel Bryant played well.
Crystal West earned the mound win for the 10-4 Vikings, while Breanna Martin singled three times and drove in four runs. Ashley West chipped in three hits and two RBIs.
The Dragons are scheduled to play their season finale on Tuesday at Mt. Blue.

In KVAC action Wednesday, the host Eagles wiped out a 7- 3 deficit with six runs in the fifth inning to improve to 5-9 and are scheduled to visit Oxford Hills on Friday.
Shauna Williams paced Mt. Ararat with a single, double and bases-clearing triple in the fifth, while Taylor Pare had two singles and a solo home run, Dana Green a double and two singles, and Micaela Mitchell three singles.
Kim Leslie pitched for the Eagles with a strikeout and three walks.
Danny Rock paced EL with a double and two singles, while Melissa Paione belted a three-run home run in the first inning to give the Eddies a 4-0 lead.
