BATH — Christina Stuart’s third goal of the game with 2:26 remaining broke a 10-10 tie as the Morse High School girls lacrosse team slipped past Class A Cony, 12-11, on Thursday at McMann Field.
Sadia Crosby followed Stuart’s goal with one of her own moments later for a 12-10 lead with 1:30 remaining. Cony answered just 14 seconds later, but the 3-6 Shipbuilders held on in the final minute.
Tori Field scored three goals and dished out a like number of assists, while Guerin Morissette added two goals and two helpers. Sadia Crosby finished with two goals and an assist, while Lauren Crosby and Sophie Sreden chipped in a goal each, and Ali Miller an assist.
Morse goaltender Crystal Leavitt turned aside 16 shots, while Cony netminder Katrina Duncan had 13 saves. Cony held a 25-10 edge in draw controls and a 30-27 advantage in shots.
The Shipbuilders are scheduled to host rival Mt. Ararat on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Mia Diplock paced Cony with four goals and Chelsey Begin picked up three.

In a game of scoring runs at Oakland, Brunswick High School rolled out a 6-0 strike over 11 minutes in the second half to wipe out a 9-8 Messalonskee lead as the Dragons wound up with a lacrosse win on Thursday.
Brunswick (9-0) is scheduled to host Gardiner on Tuesday and rival Mt. Ararat on Thursday, while the host Eagles, who led 3-0 early on, fell to 5-4.
Brunswick used a 5-0 run to end the first half for an 8-4 lead at the break. However, the Eagles scored five unanswered goals in a three-minute stretch to go up 9-8.
Brunswick called a timeout with 16 minutes left. The quick break worked as the Dragons ran off six straight goals for a 14-9 lead.
“Other than that threeminute breakdown, our defense did an excellent job stopping their fastbreak,” said Brunswick coach Beth Caputi. “Liz Faulkner was dominate, stripping the ball eight times from Messalonskee’s sticks. Together with Katie Swan, Olivia LeRoy and Caley Nicholson, they were able to mark up in transition and force attackers wide, allowing (goaltender) Molly Herman to make 10 saves.
Dakota Foster led the way with six goals, an assist and six draw controls, while Caroline Wild had two goals and four assists, Annie Kelly four goals and an assist, Corinne O’Connor two goals and three assists, and Suzannah Smith and Jen Machin an assist each.

The Eagles improved to 6-3 with a home win over the 1-8 Tigers.
Mt. Ararat, which visits rival Morse on Tuesday at 4 p.m., received two goals each from Sara Berry and Carly Raymond, while Rowley Jones, Cat Johnson, Rebecca Schuman and Hannah Hauser added one goal each.
Eagles netminder Anna Bruning turned away nine shots.
Brooke Davis and Julie Krause each scored a goal for Gardiner.
