SOUTH PORTLAND — Former University of Maine women’s basketball head coach Joanne P. McCallie of Brunswick has written a book titled “Choice Not Chance: Rules for Building a Fierce Competitor,” and will be holding book signings at two Maine locations.
McCallie will be at Books.A.Millon stores signing her new book. Palombo- McCallie will be at the South Portland B.A.M. location tonight at 6 p.m., and will appear at the Bangor location (previously Borders near the Mall) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Current UMO coach Richard Barron will be introducing Palombo-McCallie at 2 p.m. at the Bangor B.A.M. signing.
Coach Palombo-McCallie spent eight seasons at the helm of the women’s basketball program and led the Black Bears to six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
Copies of her book will be available to buy and get signed. Palombo-McCallie will also be doing a reading and answering questions at each location.
