BATH — The School Community Liaison Council (SCLC) at Morse High School will accept nominations for the annual Mainsail Award through Wednesday.
Presented each year since 1980, the Mainsail Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the youth of the greater Bath community.
According to a release, nominees should exemplify the ideals of American citizenship including respect for honesty, justice, individual freedom and equal opportunity.
The nominee should have made a major contribution to the school, community, state or nation, and be a current or past resident of the Bath area.
Current Morse students, employees of Regional School Unit 1 and active SCLC members are not eligible.
Preference is given to individual nominees and Morse High School graduates, although a joint award would be considered.
For more information or to obtain a nomination form, contact Colleen Madden at cmadden@rsu1.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
